Murray Bridge hosts the main South Australian meeting already for the second time in 2025.
A busy time for the team at Murray Bridge as we quickly follow-up from the meeting here on New Year's Day.
Feeling that we don't need to be too smart about finding a winner as overlooking the obvious may see us regretting trying.
In Race 3, Novela has the run under the belt and although the four-year-old was expected to win on debut at Morphettville Parks on 7 December, he just couldn't see out the 1250-metres when nabbed late by stablemate Stolen.
Stolen carried two-kilos less than Novela that day and with the weight difference, Novela took away a slightly higher Racing and Sports rating.
For our next best we look back to Race 2 and also from the Hickmott yard, Dyer is there as a $5 chance in markets and after winning a benchmark 64 at Morphettville Parks on Boxing Day, comes here lumbered with 60-kilos.
That being the case, Michael Hickmott is taking advantage of apprentice Alan Lai's three-kilo claim to bring him under the weights carried by most of the other fancies.
It was a tactic that worked last start and can again this time.
SAY FROM SA
