Race 1: CHAFF CITY MAIDEN (1000m)
PRINCE OF PARADOX (5) makes his debut today on the back of a handy trial win in December. This doesn't look like an overly strong Maiden, so he makes plenty of appeal, particularly drawing wide for the straight course. Can make an immediate impact. ALOT OF ROSES (9) resumed in good order at Ascot when bumping into a smart one over this trip. She's drawn the wrong side for the Straight course, but she possesses some early speed and she can make her presence felt. WOTUGOT (11) is better than she showed last start at Bunbury when beaten as a $5.50 chance. Back to 1000m now looks ideal and she's run well down the straight course recently. Drawn well out wide and is sure to go close. VERNACULAR (10) turned in a strong run fresh at Bunbury and can build on that performance today. GOD SHE'S SASSY (12) comes through the same race as Alot Of Roses and has to be included.
Race 2: TABtouch PLACE A SAME RACE MULTI MAIDEN (1300m)
PRECIOUS GOD (8) has been set tough tasks her past couple, but is running on strongly from well back. She draws a little better this time which is a big tick for her and she finds a very suitable race. Can shed the maiden tag this time. CHINESE DENTIST (4) was sound on debut at Bunbury over 1000m where he just found them a little too sharp for him. Now up in trip which looks to suit and he maps to get every chance for Azzopardi. Can improve sharply and a win wouldn't surprise. NAUGHTY TORTIE (3) went straight to town on his debut and disappointed there before going out for a spell. He's trialled well in readiness for this and Chris Parnham hops in the irons first-up. Can put his best foot forward. ROCK 'N' THE JAM (5) can play a major role on debut following some handy trials. SOLDIER OF GOD (1) is better than he showed fresh and can improve.
Race 3: BELLES PARK TRAINING & AGISTMENT MAIDEN (1300m)
KAMAKAZI SHOOTER (1) is racing well without winning, sitting on the speed to finish 1.6L off the winner at Bunbury. Chris Parnham rides now in a big push for his chances. Been knocking on the door all campaign and gets his chance now.
GOLD RUBY (9) resumes today without a trial but she showed good signs in her debut campaign. She comes through a couple of strong form references when settling back and savaging the line. This trip first-up looks ideal and she can land the knockout blow. RULESQUE (6) looks as though he'll appreciate the rise in trip following a 5.4L defeat fresh at Ascot. He just found them a little sharp over the short course, but he was finishing off well late in the race. Can improve sharply. RIGHTY OH (11) gets the blinkers on first time today and is open to plenty of improvement. DRAG MACHINE (2) is better than he showed last time out and can bounce back.
Race 4: REGISTER A TEAM FOR OWN THE DREAM BY 15 JAN MAIDEN (1500m)
METALIC MARLIN (4) hasn't finished in the placings as yet, but this looks a great opportunity for him to shed the maiden tag. The winkers go on again today and he finds a very suitable race for him. Gets his chance today. BUZZ THE TOWER (3) makes his debut today and his best trial came over 1200m recently. Chris Parnham sticks with him from the trials and he looks set to make a big impact on debut. REEL THEMOFF (1) closed off nicely at Bunbury last time out when beaten 2.6L after settling last in the run. Winkers go on again now and he'll be closing off strongly yet again. CHOUX SHOE (13) closed off strongly first-up over 1300m here and she looks ready for this trip. Won't be far away. OPAL TANGO (12) is next best.
Race 5: SWAN DRAUGHT HANDICAP (1200m)
DE GRANDHOMME (5) was good down the straight here on debut before a strong win at Bunbury as favourite last time out. He looks a smart horse on the way up and the extra journey doesn't look an issue. Can notch up back-to-back wins. RAPID ROCK (2) disappointed at Ascot last time out but he was in great form prior to that. He draws a much better gate this time and the blinkers go back on. Can bounce back to his best and that'll see him go close to winning. HISTORY WON'T CARE (1) was only beaten in a photo finish at this track and trip first-up as favourite. He still has plenty of upside and he's expected to be better for that run. Sure to be in the finish again. REPEATER (3) is racing in top order and has to be included. NEVER THE TWAIN (7) is first-up for a long time, but the booking of Parnham suggests she's ready. Keep safe.
Race 6: WESTERN RACEPIX HANDICAP (1400m)
AIN'TSOBAD (8) has sat up on the speed in both runs this campaign and been far too good for her rivals, winning by 1.9L most recently. The wide draw won't matter as she's jumped from wide gates recently. Gaerth knows her well and she can continue her winning ways. HE'S ARCHIE (10) drops back in trip today following a 3L defeat at Bunbury most recently. He maps for a lovely run in transit and he won't be far away if he can bounce back to his best form. MANZOR MAGIC (4) is a fresh winner in the past and will be fitter for two trials coming into this. He'll end up getting over further, but he ticks a few boxes today and can run a bold race fresh. SPORTS TALK (9) has just missed his past couple and has to be included. PLAYZ WITH FIRE (5) is better than she's shown her past couple and she can turn her form around now third-up into the campaign.
Race 7: RACING TRADIES DAY 12 JAN HANDICAP (1600m)
ATLANTIS BEACH (1) was a big winner fresh before a 3.1L defeat at Ascot last time out. He's right back in grade today though and he usually bounces back third-up into the campaign. O'Donnell knows him well and he can get back to winning ways. IMPERIALIZE (6) stuck on well last start over this trip at Ascot and he'll find this much easier than recent performances. He's nicely weighted considering the circumstances and he's not to be discounted. EXPELLIARMUS (9) stuck on well first-up over 1400m at Bunbury and he usually improves with racing. He's a second-up winner in the past and Carbery hops back into the saddle now. Down in the weights and can feature in the finish. HARBIN (3) is better than he showed last time out and can bounce back. STRIKING FELLA (5) hits this third-up and ready to peak with Parnham in the saddle from a handy barrier.
