A pair of last start Chris Waller winners can continue their latest run of form at Rosehill on Saturday.

The first comes early in the program when Hipparchus contests the Leilani and Luskin Star Benchmark 89 Handicap (2000m).

The French import is chasing a third straight success after winning over 2100m at Hawkesbury last start.

The son of Champs Elysees was impressive, accounting for a useful field despite having to cover a noticeable amount of extra ground from about the 800m.

Hipparchus’ latest effort returned a Timeform rating of 97p, a new master Timeform rating which eclipsed his previous best achieved when breaking maiden status at Longchamp over 2000m.

He has improved with each run this campaign and is capable of taking another step on Saturday.

The race lacks apparent depth with half the field coming off rather disappointing runs.

Hipparchus on the other hand is flying and now has the Blinkers applied for the first time.

It should see the gelding settle more prominent than usual and from that anticipated position he could take some beating.

Stablemate Harlem Lady appeals at her each way quote contesting the Cecil Godby Handicap (1400m).

The daughter of Zabeel was impressive on resuming when posting a last to first victory at Warwick Farm over this distance, drawing clear late for a 1.3 length success.

Harlem Lady would have taken good benefit from that outing and considering her get back style, should be better suited around the more spacious Rosehill where she is course proven.

Jockey Rory Hutchings is enjoying a burgeoning partnership with the daughter of Zabeel and the pair can build upon it further in Race 8 at Rosehill on Saturday.
