A sharp drop back in grade should see the Less Ross trained Mishani Persuader make a winning return this afternoon when he steps out in the sixth race at Grafton.

Having proven very competitive in stakes company towards the back end of his last preparation the three-year-old son of Excellent Art appears very placed racing dropping back to Class 3 company.

Stepping out at just his tenth career start, Mishani Persuader impressively rates 11 pounds clear of his nearest rivals on a weight adjusted ratings with a master Timeform figure of 95 achieved when finishing a close sixth in the Group 3 Vo Rogue Plate at Doomben.

Unbeaten at his only attempt over this trip he is expected to continue his solid record fresh and has drawn to receive the ideal run in transit.

Brad Stewart will maintain the ride having ridden Mishani Persuader to all three of his career victories.

A noted backmarker expect Stewart to settle him a little closer to the speed than normal as he won't want to be giving them too much start with the big weight.

While he hasn't trialled in the lead up he still should have some residual fitness on his side as he makes his return from only a short three month break.

Unlike a majority of his rivals he also appears the only galloper open to further improvement and still looks to have plenty of upside.

Despite conceding 6kg to a majority of the field he is still a class above this field and will take a power of beating.

The Terry Commerford trained Electric Circus appears the main threat in the race when he makes his return off the back of a four month break.

While he has often struggled to salute the judge in his 13 career starts he has still proven a model of consistency having placed at all five career starts last preparation.

Having only the missed the money once in six career starts at this track he is expected to be right around the mark and although he has a lot to make up on the favourite given his Timeform master rating is only 84 he is still the next in line.

The Stephen Lee trained River Spirit is expected to show sharp improvement second up after he proved a shade disappointing at this track last start.

Off the back of his good form last preparation he is worth another chance here and is clearly capable of fighting out the finish.

The Joanne Hardy trained Just Zam and the Neil Creighton trained After Baron round out the multiples.

Good luck and happy punting.
