I’ve Got The Looks To Turn Heads In Ramornie

3 minute read

Flashy mare I’ve Got The Looks should take plenty of beating in the Listed Ramornie Handicap at Grafton on Wednesday.

I've Got The Looks Picture: Racing and Sports

The Peter and Paul Snowden-trained mare kicked off her campaign with consecutive wins in the Silk Stocking Handicap and the Juanmo Stakes.

She then stepped up to the longer 1350m sprint journey of the Glenlogan Park Stakes (1350m) where the mare only battled for a midfield eighth.

I’ve Got The Looks seemingly struggled over the trip and off a freshen up, drops back to the 1200m of the Listed Ramornie Handicap at Grafton.

In a capacity field, I’ve Got The Looks is one of the class runners and appears suited in the contest which possesses noticeably compressed weights.

Of the 16 runners, just five sit inside the handicap and I’ve Got The Looks is one of them.

The daughter of Choisir has been well placed for the most part of her latest campaign and Thursday’s sprint feature appears no different.

The fairer sex are well represented in the Ramornie Handicap this year with Thump next elect off a strong performance in the Hinkler Handicap at Doomben last month.

Thump hit the line well in the event, falling just shy of claiming further black type for a career which is already overflowing with it.

She will strip fitter again third run from a spell and is drawn to receive all of the favours not far off the speed from barrier 3.

Bound For Earth drops sharply in grade off her fourth in the Group 1 Tattersall’s Tiara at the Gold Coast last month.

The Northern Meteor mare was transferred to Toby Edmonds after the Sydney autumn and results have been positive.

She produced a third in the Dane Ripper Stakes at her stable debut before performing admirably in the Tattersall’s Tiara.

While approaching two years since her last win, Bound For Earth is racing well at present and rates highly amongst this field.

Even in search of value, stick with the class runners at the top of the weights.

The Tony Gollan-trained Rocket To Glory will give them all something to chase while Territory might be ready to show something more for his new stable third run from a spell.

It is the striking chestnut I’ve Got The Looks who profiles best however for the Listed Ramornie Handicap at Grafton on Wednesday.

Rock Royalty overcame his difficult barrier (15) with a very smart beginning and then eased after showing good pace to race behind the leader (Rocket To Glory), following a strong pace. He moved up well on entering the straight, got to the front at the 200m and went on to win decisively. Barbed had a nice trip, fourth on the rails. He looked a threat when he challenged nearing the 200m and then fought on for a sound second after seeming to have every chance. Rocket To Glory went to the front and ran along at a good tempo. He was headed at the 200m and then battled back quite well to take the minor placing. Le Cap was seventh on the rails, went to fifth on straightening and then battled on to finish (4.3 lengths) fourth. Favourite I’ve Got The Looks began well but was trapped three wide without cover in sixth place from her awkward barrier (10). She was under pressure on straightening and then faded to finish (6.8 lengths) tenth.
