Kam's Comet To Bounce Back

3 minute read

The Mark Walker trained Kam's Comet failed to fire last start however he is more than capable and is expected to bounce right back at Singapore this evening.

Due to contest the seventh event, Kam's Comet comes into this on the fresh side (28 days) after finishing at the tail behind Royal Ruler last start.

Found to have no abnormalities, Kam's Comet was clearly well below his best when dropping out badly in the straight.

Prior to that Kam's Comet was very good behind Laser Storm/Super Winner and rates highly on best form.

Six of his seven wins have come on the polytrack and he has placed in two of four attempts over this trip.

Leading rider Manoel Nunes continues his association with the five-year-old having placed in seven of 10 attempts.

From the inside draw he appears to receive all the favours and it's hard to knock the Walker stable at present with four wins and eight minor placings from his last 25 runners.

Admittedly he hasn't won in six starts, however Kam's Comet is certainly a talent and shapes as one of the hardest to beat.

The James Peters trained Olympic Anthem won very impressively at this track last start and while rising at the weights he still looms as a major threat.

A winner of six of 12 attempts at this track, much like Kam's Comet he is certainly a talent when on-song.

Olympic Anthem has never missed the money over this trip, including three victories.

Despite yet to really fire third up (4-0-2), he was only narrowly beaten following a similar progression last prep and is certainly more than capable.

Corey Brown legs back aboard and is likely to ride the son of Starcraft quiet from the wide draw.

His closing sectionals last start were very impressive and if able to repeat he is sure to be very hard to hold out late.

Course and distance specialist My Lucky Strike remains under strong notice stepping out for his new stable (Cliff Brown).

Formerly trained by Mark Walker, My Lucky Strike failed to fire behind Laser Storm last start however he has placed in 11/12 attempts over this trip and has to be kept safe.

In 17 attempts at this track he has placed in 14, including eight career victories.

Case and point, his record is second to none and with 61 days between runs he can certainly bounce back to form.

Michael Rodd links aboard for the first time, a decent push given he rode Olympic Anthem to victory last start.

Rodd paired with My Lucky Strike in his latest trial and under the big weight (67kg) he was solid enough to the line.

From the inside draw he is expected to adopt a prominent position and shapes as one of the leading contenders.

Of the rest the Steven Burridge trained Jay Eff Express appears the next in line following some solid performances last time in.

Admittedly better on the turf, however he has placed in three of five attempts fresh and from the good draw he has to be kept safe.

Good luck and happy punting.
