Dreaming of Anna beaten in QEII

3 minute read

Keeneland's Queen Elizabeth Ii Challenge Cup went to Bit of Whimsy who put in a great finish to take the G1 event on Saturday.

USA!

Dreaming of Anna set off and led the field at the 1200m mark but Bit of Whimsy was runnng comfortably and was set for home by jockey Javier Castellano and despite being 2 1/2 lengths behind the favourite and put in a strong finish to take her third win from six starts. She has been thereabouts in other starts, but this would rate as her best run so far. Coquerelle finished third, having been chasing Dreaming of Anna down the straight but unable to haul her in.

Over at Belmont The Green M onkey was unimpressive in a 1400m maiden. He started off quite well but failed to show any dash and finished fourth in a field of eleven. He was sent off as even money favourite as well. He did NOT have any of our hard-earned on him - he's got to show a bit more than he has so far before that comes about.
