While he did have to get switched out, once Big Bucks was in clear air in the Cleeve the result was in the bag.

This was win no. 15 and his second Cleeve Hurdle, which is pretty amazing for a hurdler. He's a magnificent looking horse too - a big horse with a beautiful long stride. Dynaste kept him honest and Mourad ran third.

The afternoon started off with the Triumph Hurdle Trial were Grumeti duly saluted by a short head from Pearl Swan with Hollow Tree third.

The Murphy Group Chase went to The Giant Bolster who won by 17 lengths from Poquelin with Billie Magern third and Aerial fourth.

The Costwold Chase went to Midnight Chase, with Tidal Bay second, Knockara Beau third and Time for Rupert third. Captain Chris was jumped badly and got pulled up as a result.

The Classic Novices Hurdle saw Batonnier win from Broadbackbob second and Secret Edge third. Knight Pass weakened.

Over at Doncaster the Mares Hurdle went to Alasi with Jackie's Solitaire second and Lifestyle third. Dorabelle fell.

The Lightning was much easier for Kid Cassidy after Menorah fell, with Kumbeshwar second. There were only three runners in the race.

The Albert Bartlet went to Rocky Creek from Gullinburst and Same Difference.
