Peter Moody at Sha Tin

3 minute read

Australian trainer Peter Moody was at trackwork this morning in Sha Tin to see Sharleen Gardner put King's Rose through her paces.

Hong Kong!

Dodging the showers on a very humid morning Moody watched as King's Rose did a turn on the AWT and then moved to the turf track for some faster work. Moody said he was pleased with the mare's performance, which was witnessed also by her owner Dr Gene Tsoi.

African Story had a morning off after doing some fast work yesterday and Cityscape came out with Chinchon on the AWT. Cityscape did most of his work in the UK before departure and is just being kept ticking over by Charlie Henson, representing the trainer. Chinchon is going to Singapore so he is working here before traveling to an even more humid destination.

Musir has arrived but did not come out this morning as more rest is required following the journey.

John Moore's Xtension also worked on the turf track this morning and put in a very acceptable time.

This evening it is over to Happy Valley for an 8 race program. The first race is Class 5, the next 3 are Class 4 and then there are 3 Class 3s and a Class 2 to close. The Kyoto Handicap is the first of the Class 3s over 1650m and while we are not so up to date on their form we would probably go for Horse Aplenty from Fluke and Flying In.

The JRA Trophy is also over 1650m and it is quite competitive - Snitzel Kid, Enthusing and Elegance Klammer probably. The Sauternes Cup is over 1200m and for that we like Fresh Air, Dr Super and Kick Serve.

The Class 2 Hanshin Handicap we like Happy Tumbler and if we have any money left may combine him with Silver Grecian and Flashing Aura.
