His thrilling win in the last race of the 4-race series means that he has got sufficient points to be able to have two 3-month licences over the next two years, which is something he wanted very much.  He had quite an interesting march to the winning post in the last as on Saturday he was tossed off his horse as it came out of the starting gates awkwardly but he did manage quite well on some of his other rides.

Damian Lane was on the winner of the G3 Keeneland Cup on Satono Reve, a Lord Kanaloa offspring trained by Hori-sensei.

Yutaka Take came in second in the jockeys comp having won the third leg on a roughie T Up Leon.  All Maximum was second for Yokoyama and Rough Asian third for Yoshimura.  No luck for Tadgh O'Shea as his mount B I Oracle started favourite and was up with the pace but weakened in the home straight.

Damian Lane who broke his run of "4th placings was chased home by A Shin Spotter with Moreira on board and Take's mount Obamburame too the third spot.

Team JRA won the overall points and in the individual comp Take came in second and Ryusai Sakei was third – he's riding very well and also suffered the indignity of being dumped by his horse at the start.  With Moreira and Sakei both having been dumped by their horses is this a new secret way to win these comps?

The weather behaved and the crowd seemed to enjoy it.  It's a nice track but they only race in August which is a shame – they race in America often in the snow which is just shoved to one side and the horses race in between mounds of snow.  Considering that winter is the big tourist season – especially February when they have the Ice Festival the JRA could consider having a special meeting here at that time.
