Early mail and best exotic plays for Randwick Kensington on Saturday November 23 from racing editor Chris Scholtz.
RANDWICK KENSINGTON SATURDAY
RACE 2 (5) MADE TO ORDER: Just two starts have stamped this filly as a very progressive type who can rise quickly through the classes. Should have won her debut at Kembla Grange then far too good for a midweek maiden field over 1400m at Warwick Farm where she always had the leaders covered and won with plenty in hand carrying 59kg. She’s by Commands so any give in the track should not be a concern and expect to see her run this trip right out with a 4.5kg drop in weight from her maiden win.
RACE 5 (6) LONGSHOREMAN: If the rain continues as forecast expect this track to be softened, especially after it hosted a set of trials on Thursday. The conditions will favour this much-travelled gelding who turns up here after a luckless second in Adelaide over 1250m at his first start since June. There was plenty of good form around his consistent winter carnival campaign in Brisbane and combined with his strong 1400m record and proven ability in affected going he appeals as a good gamble against a favourite who is untried at the trip and has never raced on soft ground.
RACE 7 (11) KRISTY LEE: The White Sage form looks strong and this handy mare won’t have to improve much off her solid fourth to that exciting prospect at Rosehill on November 2 when having her first outing since a smart win over 1100m at that track in August. The speed in this race maps well for her to run on strongly as there is often a tendency for the Kensington track to favour run on horses drawn wide in later races. If that’s the case she got the right jockey to give her every chance. Good value.
