RACE 5 (8) MARTINVAST: Import comes into this third up after two conditioning efforts in shorter races including a close up fifth in a strong Goulburn Cup over 1600m on November 24. He won up to 2200m last campaign and this trip looks a perfect fit for him at this stage of current prep. Weighted to run a big race with 2kg under the limit after claim.

RACE 6 (8) MONBAZILLAC: Fair to say he should have won at least one of his three starts since resuming as he has had little go right for him in each race. The fact that he has managed to place in two of those three runs underlines his ability and he only needs an even break in this field to prove hard to beat. Should respond well to blinkers coming off after racing too keenly last start and the switch to a rider in top form.

RACE 7 (10) TAYA: Caught the eye in her first three runs after a spell before she really got her act together at her last start to beat a good field over 1300m at Goulburn, steaming home from the rear of the field for a soft win. She has the look of a mare ready to go on with it now that she has found winning form.
