Need a good rebound from last week and we can enjoy the lead-ups to the Goodwood and Australasian Oaks on the card.
Lloyd Williams horses have started to hit some form in recent weeks and another of the Robert Hickmott imports Assign can run a great race its first start in Australia.
He won a Premier Handicap at the Curragh (when racing as Adjusted) when sitting right on the leader’s heels over the mile and a half. He drove to the front turning and staved off all challengers.
Do like the fact he was able to take up a position and use that speed to advantage while staying on well.
He’s had over seven months since that and trialled as well. Bred to a nice staying type and glad to be backing him in this company.
The each way play is Kansas Sunflower in the G3 Auraria Stakes for the fillies.
This is the natural progression race to the Oaks in a fortnight. There are formlines coming from everywhere for this race. But we do like the fact she has been finding the winning post this time in as compared to many others in the big field.
The daughter of Mastercraftsman bolted in first up then was closer in the Albury Guineas before winning in sound style at Flemington last week.
She backs up of that and draws gate one which means she can be put wherever they want to. While other rivals will be looking for positions, Brad Rawiller only needs to avoid missing the start.
Every chance she ends up good value given the field size and others who are sure to have admirers.
