After 335 winners this season so far there is no reason for punters to jump off the Darren Weir juggernaut as it rolls on towards Caulfield.

Camdus has been responsible for 3 of Weir's 335 wins and at Caulfield on Saturday he gets his chance to add another. His return from a spell at Caulfield a fortnight back certainly has him well set up.

In fact, on the strength of his return run Camdus looks in for a big preparation with better races than Benchmark 78's surely on the horizon - he could be part of the team that kick starts Weir's 2016/17 campaign to chase down their own record.

That return run produced a rating right in line with his peak performance from last campaign, chasing home a race fit horse in Heza Ripper who was going on with a high-rating performance of his own at Sale.

Heza Ripper had the edge in fitness there and so there was plenty of merit in taking him to half a length first up.

The fourth horse, Magicus, has already come out and won from a similarly promising first up figure and the form should continue to work out well.

A wide barrier has ensured that Camdus is available to back at a price far more generous than his form warrants. It may make winning slightly less likely, but even taking that into account we mark him much shorter than the $4.00 on offer.

For an each way play we will look to the feature, the Sir John Monash Stakes, where Fast 'n' Rocking is the early favourite.

That's fair enough, and he far and away the best suited at weight-for-age, but at quotes around $15.00 in early markets we want to have something each way on Thermal Current.

That keeps us all aboard that Darren Weir juggernaut - a juggernaut that Thermal Current looks to be thriving aboard.
