San Telmo will look to get punters off to a winning start when he lines up in the opening race of the day at Sunshine Coast on Saturday.

The Bradley Smith-trained runner has come back to racing in very good order this campaign, putting two placings together before hitting the line well for a close sixth to Stratum Star at the Gold Coast last time out.

Stays over the 2200m trip for this where he has a solid record and in this small field he is unlikely to get as far back as he did last start and should prove hard to hold out down in the weights.

The last start effort of San Telmo rates well in this company and if he runs up to that again he will be very hard to beat.

Later in the day Irish Constabulary will look to build on his strong recent form when lining up in the Benchmark 85 Handicap (1200m).

Winning three of his four outings this campaign, Irish Constabulary hit the line very well to win on Magic Millions day at the Gold Coast last start and gets in well with the 3kg claim for the apprentice jockey today.

Stays over the 1200m trip for this where he has a very good record and also runs well here at his home course.

Should be at peak fitness now fifth up from a spell and the current price of $6 looks a good each way bet for a horse with his form.
