A highly talented import is expected to continue his progression through the grades at Randwick on Saturday.

While most will be focused largely on Cox Plate Day in Melbourne, attention should head up the highway to Sydney for at least the last race on the program.

The reason for this is an impressive French import by the name of Interlocuter.

Interlocuter contests the A W Edwards Benchmark 95 Handicap (1800m) three weeks after taking out a Benchmark 85 over the Randwick Mile in clinical fashion.

Instead, Godolphin’s Head Trainer has provided Interlocuter with an ideal opportunity to continue a natural progression through the grades on Saturday.

Rising to 1800m third run from a spell looks ideal as Interlocuter originally proceeded to work through his grades in Australia over a staying trip last autumn.

The race has already been robbed of some depth with Embley and Man Of His Word each scratched.

Earlier in the program, Accepted appeals at double figures contesting the E-Group Security Sprint (1000m).

The former UK and HK sprinter made an encouraging stable debut at this course and distance a fortnight ago.

Carrying 63kg, the son of Approved settled back and wanted to overrace early on before making solid late ground to finish seventh.

He wasn’t beaten far and will have taken benefit from the outing.

A fortnight later he drops substantially in weight courtesy of a rise in grade and the 3kg claim of Lee Magorrian.

Overall, Accepted has pleased since arriving in Australia with his first up run preceded by an encouraging Rosehill trial.

A stakes winning, Group placed two-year-old in the UK, Accepted will be there at the finish based on running anything near his peak Timeform ratings.
