The Simon Miller trained Valour Road stamp himself "King of the Castle" in the Karrakatta Plate and should take a power of beating in Saturday's Group 3 Sires' Produce Stakes.
An impressive debut winner at Pinjarra, Valour Road trialled like a bomb in the build up to the 2YO feature and justified his heavy market support (7-1 > 7/2).
Ridden by Aaron Mitchell, Valour Road led throughout and while tiring late, he recorded very good figures, in truth he may have overdone it a bit in the lead.Off a 63 day break he remains open to good improvement racing second up and gives the impression he will relish the step up to 1400m.
Unlike the Karrakatta Plate there doesn't look to be a great deal of early pressure and Mitchell shouldn't have any concerns crossing from the wide draw.Stablemate Lady Cosmology looms as the main danger, however given this race was an afterthought, certainly have to lean Valour Road's way.
Early markets have little between the pair, which presents a good betting opportunity as we have Valour Road the clear-cut favourite.Lady Cosmology is back in contention to join Valour Road in the Sires’ Produce Stakes. Connections decided to spell after the Karrakatta Plate but changed their minds yesterday. Trainer Simon Miller says both 2YOs will be monitored this week deciding whether they tackle the Sires

He is expected to lead and take plenty of beating.
The Team Williams trained See Me Sizzle raced in great order last preparation and remains a big watch fresh in the fifth event.A winner of seven of his 24 starts, See Me Sizzle has placed on a further five occasions and has won three of seven over this trip.
His sole trial in the lead up was solid enough and has drawn to receive all the favours with the Wizard in the saddle (placed 6/8).On best form he can only run well at good each-way odds.
