Things fell our way in Brisbane again last weekend, thanks largely to Rocket To Glory rolling on for his second win in as many starts this campaign.
Spot The Rock was unplaced at a fairly short price, the only miss was Uno Five who ran fourth behind Sir Knox who impressively bounced back to form.
It looks a tougher card this week but there’s still a few handy horses going around.
Billy Aucash looks a nice bet in the Benchmark 95 Handicap (1500m) where he’s currently rated a $3.40 proposition.
He notched an impressive win three weeks back at Doomben over 1350m, hitting the front 100m out and holding off a flying Volkhere, eased down on the line.
That was the race where Mishani Warrior was held up for a run in the straight before getting out late on and rattling home into third.
He went on to win in open grade last start, his fourth win from five starts.
Billy Aucash has a handy record at Eagle Farm having won here twice and placed here twice in five starts.
He’s also two wins from three up to this trip.
Hour Of Peril and Hludowig both won two runs back but were both well beaten at their most recent start.
The other danger in this is the resuming Dolly Dolly, although she’ll likely find this a bit short first-up.
Go with Billy Aucash to grab another win.
The race prior has also thrown up a good one in Hollywood Bound who was nutted on the line at this track and trip two weeks ago by Soul Crusade.
He hit the front 50m out but just peaked about 20m too soon.
Patrick Holmes goes back on here and he’s won twice in four starts on this four-year-old.
He’s super consistent and won’t find this any tougher than last start.
Expect Bevico Girl to set the tempo again like she did last start when third to Soul Crusade and Hollywood Bound.
She only meets Hollywood Bound half a kilogram better so will need to improve again to hold him out.
Borehole is also in the mix on the quick back up but he has a habit of finding one better at this track.
Look to Hollywood Bound to get you have to a winning early start.
Our lay today comes in race seven where Londehero resumes 140 days after running second in the Listed Ken Russel Memorial at Gold Coast.
He looked the winner at the furlong marker but just peaked too soon and was run down late.
The form out of that race has been solid, but he might just lack a bit of fitness resuming today and he’s still a maiden which is always concerning.
Queen Of The Lochs has won both career starts and looks one worth sticking with while Miss Husson was super impressive winning a maiden at this C&D 17 days ago and the horse she beat home in Willow Mist won well on Wednesday.
There’s enough against Londehero at this point to take him on resuming.
