It’s the traditional Easter at Oakbank and the fields are not that big on Saturday. No surprise John Wheeler is in town.

However we are steering clear of the jumps races for the tips.

Gossip Guru may one day go jumping but she looks like she is desperate for ground on the flat at the moment.

The half-sister to Gamblin’ Guru, she is by Reset so will have no dramas with the 3600m. Usually getting a long way back in her races, the small field can’t hurt.

A fortnight back she made up strong ground to get close enough on the line that suggests a race like this is not going to be too hard.

With the 2kg claim for Sigrid Carr on top of that, we think she is best on the card.

The good gamble at odds during the day can be Hinchley Wood for Symon Wilde.

This horse won at Moonee Valley two runs ago coming from well back to score right on the line.

He then stepped up to an Open race and gave away too much start. There will be money for several of these, especially those with picket fence form.
