Best From The West - August 29

3 minute read

With big fields we might get some decent odds at Belmont on Saturday.

However the horse who kept making great strides last campaign was Madassa and it won’t be flash in the market place.

He won three of five and in fact that only kept up his average as he’s never missed the placings from nine goes.

He got all the way to BM72+ level two months ago and never looked back winning by two lengths.

The critical thing is the claim for Aaron Mitchell as he was giving plenty away to the light weights originally.

Will either lead or be right with them most of the way and tough it out on pace.

The other one we like at odds is the Simon Miller trained Eurosun at the 1400m of Race 7.

He’s such a consistent horse that no matter what the circumstances he runs an honest event each time.

Always getting into the placings, he gets back so the gate is not the hang up it might be considered.

After the 3kg claim again for Aaron Mitchell, he is not far from the original limit.

He will face plenty of rivals coming to the turn but then be swooping home like he does every other time this preparation. Hopefully that is to win but 1x3 betting can make a profit.
