Emerging sprinter Majinika chases the hat-trick at Belmont on Saturday and judging by his last start win he is going to take plenty of beating in the final event.
Trained in partnership (Durrant & Miller), the son of Izmir has returned in fantastic order this time in and is clearly a galloper heading in the right direction.
Only lightly raced Majinika has won four of seven attempts and has only missed the money once in his career.A handy winner first up at this track over 1200m, Majinika went on to space his rivals last start when leading throughout to score easily by 3.5L
Successful in returning a new career peak he remains open to further improvement and while stepping up noticeably in grade he still appears well placed. From the middle draw he looks to receive all the favours and while installed the 2-1 favourite, there is still a bit of value to be had.
When assessing Timeform predictive ratings, Majinika sits well clear and we have him marked closer to a 6-4 chance and hence more than happy to take the price on offer. He is a nice horse on the way up and can continue his winning ways on Saturday.
The Alan Matthews trained Django won well last start and appears well placed to go back to back in the fifth event.
Although struggling with consistency last preparation his form this time in for his new stable has been very good and he looks to have turned the corner. In five attempts at this rack he has placed in four and while arguably better over further he is still expected to make his presence felt.
As much as $4.20 is being offered about his chances which presents a great betting opportunity as we have him marked the 2-1 favourite.Patrick Carbery sticks aboard and he is expected to make his presence felt.
