Those wanting to stand one out in the quaddie can wait until the final event of the day at Scone.

The Scone carnival hosts its second day on Saturday with the eight race card largely comprised of capacity fields.

The last event at Scone on Saturday is the Listed Ortensia Stakes (1100m) where the progressive Nieta will look to record her first black type victory.

Nieta
Nieta Picture: Racing and Sports

Nieta was excellent on resuming, winning a 1000m Benchmark 90 at Randwick three weeks ago.

She produced a career best rating and can build on the run at Scone on Saturday.

The John Thompson-trained mare already rates as the one they have to beat in the final event at Scone, not taking into account the improvement she is open to with added fitness second up.

Nieta appears extremely well placed in the event, perfectly poised down on the limit weight.

Of the 13 runners contesting the Ortensia Stakes, she is one of only six who sit inside the handicap.

She can send punters out on a winning note at Scone.

Every year, the Scone carnival offers up a host of genuine value players.

Suspect Tsaritsa is one of the better value plays during the 2017 Scone Carnival.

The Chris Waller-trained mare returned from a freshen up in the Godolphin Crown (1300m) and performed well, running fourth.

Tsaritsa settled back and when unable to find a run out wide in the straight, looked for room along the inside and was making late ground behind stablemate Shillelagh.

She now meets the winner an impressive 7kg better at the weights and runner up Daysee Doom 6kg better at the weights.

Furthermore Tsaritsa will enjoy a 7kg turnaround on the well fancied Artistry.

Add to that additional fitness second up and a solid record over seven furlongs, Tsaritsa profiles as a brilliant each way play at double figure odds.

The Matt Dunn-trained Quatronic was a good all the way winner. He was quickly away from his outside barrier (11), went to front and then steadied the pace, grabbed a clear break on turning for home and then fought back to win well, sprinting home in a fast 33.03. Deploy was a handy fourth, went to second at the 200m and kept making ground on the leader, in the sprint home, to take a good second while Dothraki raced outside the leader to the home turn and held on well for a good third. The favourite Nieta raced in eighth place (wide with cover) and made ground in the straight, without threatening for (2.7 lengths) fourth, being disadvantaged by the sprint home conditions of the race.
