Plenty of Melbourne's good horses and jockeys will be in Adelaide this weekend but what's leftover still looks to cobble together into an interesting offseason card at Flemington.
It's not all one way traffic from Melbourne to Adelaide, however, with what appeals as the best bet on the card coming the other way in the form of South Australian Eclair Calling.
He ran in Melbourne last time out and he did so without a great run in transit, his closing effort over 1400m marking him down as a coming winner.
The step up to the mile looks like a big positive. He's by a strong stayer in Tartan Bearer and out of a Galileo mare who, while we couldn't claim was particularly talented, did show her best form at the mile.
On pedigree he's likely to get a lot further still but the mile looks ideal for now and he's well set up to peak and win tomorrow.
For an each way play we roll on to race five to have something on Hursley.
We've seen plenty of Hursley, and he's probably not getting any better at this point in his life, but he is fairly reliable once he finds his form and he's done just that in his last couple of runs.
He was good two back and then left with too much to do off a steady gallop last week. His close was good and the back up looks ideal off that. He's no stranger to the back up, with mixed results, but off an ideal run like that one we know that he can thrive.
